Ashu Sabharwal
  • Founder of Qualisys, has more than two decades of valuable experience in market research, having worked on both the client as well as the agency side.
  • A commerce graduate from Lady Shriram college, DU who went onto pursue a Masters in Business Economics from Delhi University and found her calling in life in market research
  • Started her career in 1990 with the marketing services department at Godfrey Phillips India, which gave her a client perspective of research
  • In 1992, joined IMRB International (a WPP group company) and went on to head their specialist qualitative research unit, PQR by 1997. Worked on a wide range of accounts at IMRB International- Reckitt & Colman, Pepsi, Dabur, Brooke Bond Lipton India, Nestle, Motorola etc. The Indian economy was opening up at that point in time and telecommunication companies ventured into India with pagers, mobiles, etc. DTH, convenience products, fast-foods were all new categories and she has been part of their journey in the country helping companies launch, develop and capture the markets through strategic initiatives. She is trained in both quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • She was fortunate to have some of the stalwarts of research as her mentors. To name a few, Mr. P.K. Bandyopadhyay (her mentor at GPI - a hard-core statistician who understood both qualitative and quantitative tools with an experience of working with the top-most MNCs - P&G, Coca-Cola, GPI and who also taught at the IIMs), Neerja Wable (her mentor at IMRB Delhi), Priya Tandon and Kamini Banga (mentors at PQR, the specialists qualitative wing of IMRB International)
  • In 1997, she decided to work independently as that, she felt, allows one to do proper justice to qualitative research . And so was born Qualisys. Common-sense, a high degree of involvement, understanding the strategic imperatives involved and getting into the thick of things are her personal traits. Her unbridled passion towards her work can be infectious!!
  • She teaches at the IIM Lucknow as guest faculty. Has co-authored a book on Lucknow food habits, again an IIM initiative. Has mentored student teams at the Index Fair at IIM lucknow. She was also one of the speakers at the Achievers' series seminar at IIT Kanpur.
  • Ashu is currently also a part of the research team at Centre for marketing in emerging economies (CMEE)

Ankita Singh

  • Ankita joined Qualisys in 2016 as a Research manager. By qualification, she is a management graduate from the International school of management excellence, Bangalore. She came with 5 years of experience in qualitative research
  • Started career with AZ Research, moved on to Ipsos research before joining Qualisys
  • Soft spoken, she hails from the Hindi heartland of Lucknow. Loves to be with consumers and at Qualisys honed her skills of analysis.
  • She has worked across Food n Beverages, Telecom, Durables, Automotive, Fashion, Education, etc. Have done studies in rural states of Rajasthan, UP for PSI, Luminous, SIMPA, MTL & JWT.
  • Worked on a wide range of accounts like- Huawei, Panasonic, Hyundai, Toyota, Arvind Mills, LT foods Ltd, Perfetti Van Melle, Cargill India, etc to name a few

Thelma Elias
  • A senior associate of Qualisys highly skilled inĀ  Southern languages like Tamil and Telugu
  • With an educational background in Psychology and Chemistry, she took to market research after pursuing a career as a research chemist for a year with Standard Organics Ltd. and a banker with ANZ Grindlays bank (Standard Chartered) for 11 years
  • She was also a trauma care councelor at the Swedish Covenant hospital - Chicago (USA)
  • She also has experience in social research and is an active volunteer with MAKE A WISH foundation and other social service organizations
  • In 1998, she started a part time career in market research when she came back to India and by 2001, she was fully entrenched into qualitative market research
Bhaskar Ayer

  • Another long time associate of Qualisys has more than two decades of valuable experience in the research industry
  • Prior to starting out on his own he worked in organizations such as AC Nielsen ORG-MARG, IMRB, Sista’s Advertising, Modi Xerox and RK Swamy BBDO Advertising.
  • He has personally handled hundreds of focus group discussions among various consumer segments across the country and has directed large-scale consumer, industrial and social research
  • His articles on Market Research have been carried by Business India, Business World, A&M, Business line and Indian Management
